World-kwown actor Jan Triska has passed away (age 80)

With deep sadness the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Los Angeles informs of passing of Jan Tříska, a legendary Czech film and theater actor. He was 80 years old.
 

Tříska emigrated in 1977 and settled in Los Angeles, appearing in numerous Hollywood movies including The Karate Kid Part III or Ronin or Ragtime and The People vs. Larry Flynt, directed by fellow Czech Miloš Forman   

After the Velvet Revolution, Tříska regularly returned to his home country to appear in stage productions and films, including taking a lead role in The Elementary School, which was nominated for an Academy Award.

Mr. Tříska will be missed not only in the Czech Republic, but all around the world.
