Ambassador R. Rubeš presents a credential letter to the Secretary General of COMESA

Ambassador Radek Rubeš presented a credential letter  from the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foregn Affairs of the Czech Republic  Mr. Martin Stropnický to the Secretary General of COMESA Mr. Sindiso Ngwenya.

On May 7, 2018, Ambassador Radek Rubeš handed over a credential letter from the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, Mr.Martin  Stropnicky to the Secretary General of COMESA Mr. Sindiso Ngwenya. In his speech the Ambassador presented the Czech Republic as a country that has undergone extensive transformation and is now fully integratedinto a number of international organisations including NATO,EU and Schengen. The economy is export oriented and it is in the interest of the Czech Republic to be part of a large free trade area.

Sindiso Ngwenya commended the Czech Republic for economic success and mentioned that COMESA pursues the same goals as the EU. It seeks to remove bureacratic obstacles preventing trade between the African states. COMESA is the largest trading block (with the accession of Tunisia and Somalisa,700 million  Inhabitants) in Africa and has the ambition to become the embryo of the all African free trade zone. He expressed the hope that Czech companies will increase their investiments in Africa and show an interest in exchanging experience in the field of automation of industry ,healthcare,education and intensification of agriculture.
