The Inauguration of the new Chancery of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Zambia

On April 26, 2017, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the Republic of Zambia, H.E. Mr. Radek Rubeš, handed over his Letters of Credence to H.E. Mr. Edgar Lungu, President of the Republic of Zambia. This event marks the official opening of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Zambia. ​On 1 August 2017 the Embassy moved to a the new Chancery at 4 Twin Palms Road, Kabulonga, Lusaka.

On 1 August 2017 the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Lusaka moved from the provisional rooms at the Ambassador´s residence to the new Chancery at 4 Twin Palms Road, Kabulonga, Lusaka. On the same day, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Lusaka took over all diplomatic and consular function for Zambia, Zimbabwe and Malawi. On 14 August 2017 its Consular section started to offer some consular functions for the Czech citisens and general public.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Lubomír Zaorálek made a decision to open the Embassy in Lusaka last December. The Czech Republic and Zambia share a mutual interest to strengthen relations between the two countries in the political, economic and development area. Zambia was designated as one of the priority countries of the Czech Republic's development cooperation program.
