A Programming Mission of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic and the Czech Development Agency visits Zambia

A Programming Mission of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic and the Czech Development Agency led by the Director of the Czech Development Cooperation in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, Mr. Václav Bálek visited Zambia from the 7th of October up to the 13th of October 2017.

The main purpose of the mission was to complete the proposals of the cooperation program and prioritization in the area of foreign development cooperation between the Czech Republic and Zambia for the years 2018 – 2023. Zambia will be a priority country for our development cooperation from the year 2018.

In Lusaka the members of the mission met with representatives of the Ministries of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Finance, Water Sources, Sanitation and Environment and Planning of National Development respectively. The mission members also exchanged experiences of the Zambian working environment with members of the Diplomatic Corps, the most significant donors and development agencies (including UN),  big non-government organizations which implement projects in Zambia, the Bretton –Woods institutes and the African Development Bank.

The mission members also visited projects which are being implemented by Czech Republic NGOs in the Western Province of Zambia. The gained ideas and experiences will be incorporated into the  prepared strategic document “Program of Development Cooperation of the Czech Republic in Zambia 2018 – 2023.
