Visa Information

Embassy of the Czech Republic in Lusaka accepts visa applications of citizens or residents of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Republic of Zambia, Republic of Malawi, Democratic Republic of the Congo.  

Visa applications need to be submitted in person. Only complete applications with all supporting documents will be accepted! 

Do not send any electronic document / file via email unless otherwise instructed!

All fees are to be paid in cash in Zambian Kwacha (ZMW) only! No other currencies, debit/credit cards are accepted!

For citizens and residents of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the Embassy of Belgium in Kinshasa is representing the Czech Republic for processing of Schengen visa applications. Long-term visa and residence permit applications need to be submitted at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Lusaka.

As of 9 April 2022, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Lusaka is again accepting all visa and residence permit applications. The protective measures governing the rules for entry into the Czech Republic in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic have been lifted. Entry into the Czech Republic is no longer subject to any special epidemiological conditions to prevent the spread of the disease. The ban on entry of foreigners from third countries and the need to prove that they are free of infection have been lifted.

SUBMITTING APPLICATIONS

All visa applications must be made in person, during Visa Section strictly by appointment. 

PROCESSING TIME

The processing time for short term visa takes minimum 15 days and 14 days for EU family members. In specific cases the processing time can be prolonged up to 45 days. The processing time for long term visa takes minimum 60 days (study purposes in accredited program), 90 - 120 days (other purposes).

COLLECTING PASSPORTS

The passports can be collected in person during Visa Section during scheduled appointment. Exceptionally a passport can be collected by an authorized person or via DHL/TNT- with no responsibility for eventual loss/damage on the Embassy side.
