Czech Deputy Minister for consular issues visits Manila

Deputy Minister for Legal and Consular Affairs of the Czech Republic Martin Smolek visited the Philippines where he introduced a newly established visa programmes for Filipino workers.

During his visit to Manila, Czech Deputy Minister Martin Smolek met representatives of POEA (Philippine Overseas Employment Administration) and DOLE (Department of Labor and Employment) with whom he discussed aspects of 1,000 job opportunities in the Czech Republic for qualified Filipino workers and employment schemes in place in the Czech Republic. He assured Filipino representatives of the respect for ethical hiring shared by Czech authorities.

Deputy Minister Martin Smolek also gave an interview to Manila Bulletin why the Czech Republic is opening up its labor market to Filipinos. “We will try to enlarge the system now and see how it will run, and we hope it will run smoothly,” Smolek said.

Deputy Minister Martin Smolek was accompanied by Martin Nový, Director of Visa Department of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic.
