The Opening and the Film Fest’s Manila run was held in Shangri-La Plaza, (September 9 – 18), then Cagayan de Oro University (September 23 – 25) with the finale taking place in Ayala Center in Cebu (September 30 – October 2).

Annual participants of this Festival are the EU member countries with representation in Manila and Switzerland. For 2011, the Czech Republic presented the film Bobule (The Grapes) by director Tomáš Bařina. As proof that the annual Cine Europe Film Festival is a welcome treat to its Filipino audience, this year’s numbers surpassed expectations with the highest number of movie goers on record. Approximately 12,000 viewers in Manila, 6,500 in CDO and 8,000 in Cebu, totalling 30,000 viewers took part in this year’s Cine Europa.
