Sining Česko

The Cultural Section of the Czech Embassy Manila presents Sining ČESko : My Czech Art, the university edition of the Czech Embassy’s on-going 2011 series of art competitions.

A play on Filipino words ‘Sining’ (art) and ‘ko’ (I/me) and Czech word ‘Česko’ (Czech), Sining ČESkois a wonderful opportunity for college and university students, age 16 to 21, from the Philippines to discover the Czech Republic – the heart of Europe – while showcasing their talents in the visual arts.

While participants have the freedom to use any traditional art medium of their choice (e.g. charcoal, acrylic paint, watercolor, etc), its unique slant is the incorporation of at least one (1) indigenous Philippine material (e.g. coconut shell, bamboo, abaca, etc.) in the creation of the artwork.

This year’s theme is “The Czech Republic Through My Eyes.”

This project is spearheaded by the Czech Embassy Manila in cooperation with SM Supermalls.

Submission of entries is from 1 September 2011, Thursday (10:00am) until 30 September 2011, Friday 2:00pm.
