Musica FEURopa

The recent Far Eastern University/European Union Choral Competition in the Philippines was held on May 18 and 19 in the Far Eastern University (FEU) auditorium. The 2-day event brought in a total of 17 choirs from in and outside Manila, with a majority coming from Luzon.

With the goal of promoting both European and Filipino composers, each choir was required to perform 1 Filipino and 1 European song each.

The grand prize winners were the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) Choral Ensemble, followed by La Salle Bacolod and San Antonio de Padua Parish Chorale. In the high school division, the grand prize went to Boscorale of the Don Bosco All Boys High Schools, with second and third place going to Ramon Magsaysay HS and UPLB Rural respectively.

Guest judges were distinguished experts and members of the artistic community.

The official media partner of Musica FEUROPA was DZFE 98.7 FM, the Philippines’ only classical music radio station.

Now on its 3rd year, the annual Musica FEUROPA Choral Competition is a joint project of the various EU Embassies in Manila and the Delegation of the European Union, in partnership with Far Eastern University (FEU).
