„Patid“ – anthology of modern Czech and Slovak stories in Filipino

Closing the celebrations of 100 years sice the creation of the joint Czech and Slovak state (establishment of Czechoslovakia in 1918), the anthology of contemporary Czech and Slovak short stories in Filipino translation was published in December 2018.

The first anthology of contemporary writers from the Central European countries in translation into Filipino contains works by Slovak writers Balla, Ivana Dobrakovová, Uršuľa Kovalyk, Marek Vadas and Alexandra Pavelková and Czech writers Jáchym Topol, Bianca Bellová, Marek Šindelka, Markéta Pilátová, Vilma Kadlečková and Pavel Renčín. Translated by Niles Jordan D. Breis, Abdon M. Balde Jr., Val Dominic F. Monit, En Villasis, Emmanuel Q. Velasco, Camilo Mendoza Villanueva Jr, Emmanuel T. Barrameda, Louie Jon A. Sánchez and Joselito D. Delos Reyes.

The anthology was edited by Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the Philippines Jaroslav Olsa Jr. in cooperation with Julia Sherwood, Edgar de Bruin and Kristian Sendon Cordero.

The full name of the book is: Patid. Mga Kontemporaneong Kuwento ng mga Czech at Slovak na Manunulat. It was published by Ateneo de Naga University Press 2018.
