Czech Trek TV Series launched

Writer Jessica Zafra and filmmaker Pepe Diokno launched their six part TV documentary about the Czech Republic to be aired on CNN Philippines this April.

On Feb 20, the travel documentary series „CZECH TREK“ was launched in trendy Acceler8 in Makati. The documentary, in which writer Jessica Zafra and filmmaker Pepe Diokno travel to the Czech Republic to find Filipino connections, will premiere on CNN Philippines this April 2018. The documentary goes beyond the sights and sounds of the Czech Republic to delve into its unique history and culture, and find its hidden connections to the Philippines.

The launch event included a sneak peek at the series, behind-the-scenes footage, and a freewheeling panel discussion featuring the Czech Ambassador to the Philippines Jaroslav Olsa, series hosts Pepe Diokno and Jessica Zafra and special guest historian Prof. Ambeth Ocampo. Chasing pass the known Rizal-Blumentritt friendship, the panelists explored the uncharted territory of Czech-Philippine relations that have been in existence for more than three centuries.

Based on The Flip Trip investigation results, there are 7 reasons why Filipinos should go on a Czech Trek.

The participants at the event took part in the Czech Raffle and admire Czech glass, promoted by Spectacularis, the platform of Czech glass-makers and Filipino designers.

Czech Trek is the first part of The Flip Trip, in which Jessica Zafra and Pepe Diokno travel around the world to find Filipino connection.

Produced by Epicmedia Productions, Czech Trek is part of the Czech Embassy promotion of tourism.
