Czech Embassy in Manila Hosts the Czech Beer Night

Dubbed as one of the most fun events – the Czech Beer Night of the Czech Embassy in Manila was held last 16 November 2019 at Whitespace Manila as the first purely czech beer festival in the Philippines. At the same the Czech Independent State Day and the 30th Anniversary of the Velvet Revolution was celebrated.
 

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Manila conducted its Czech Beer Night, which was the largest event of the year and the first of its kind, on 16 November 2019 at Whitespace Manila, Makati City.

Over 500 guests who joined the festivity tasted the overflowing original golden lager, Pilsner Urquell, and Czechvar. Aside from the aforementioned two  beer companies, Kozel, Whisky Trebitsch, Rudolf Jelínek, and Becherovka also took part in the event to showcase their internationally recognized drinks.

Together with the alcoholic drinks companies, four  other sponsors namely, Home Credit Philippines, VFS Global, Aero Vodochody Aerospace, and Ministry of Agriculture, paved the way in organizing the event.

Not only Czech alcoholic drinks were featured during the celebration as one  Czech agricultural tractor from the famous Zetor Tractors a.s. was exhibited within the premises of Whitespace Manila. In addition to this the Czech traditional music group called Jindra Kelíšek Band (also known as Tram Tram Band) were invited to play during the event who further demonstrated the colorful tradition of the Czech Republic.

Present during the event are colleagues and friends from the diplomatic corps, government, and private sector. Philippine Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. made a surprise visit wherein he joined Ambassador Jana Šedivá during a ceremonial toast on stage. Aside from Secretary Locsin, Transportation Undersecretary Ruben Reinoso Jr. and Trade and Industry Assistant Secretary Angelo Taningco also attended the celebration.

The event did not only showcase the traditions and presented Czech Republic as a destination but it also provided platform for czech companies to present their portfolio of products, that are getting increased recognition on the Philippine market.
