Philippines interested in Czech technology

Water management and energy could become one of the fields in which Czech companies are looking to succeed in the Philippines. Thanks to the Embassy's activities, six Czech companies presented to their potential partners in Manila.
 

Czech companies in the field of water management and energy presented their services and products at the Water & Energy conference, which took place on 13 September at the New World Hotel in Manila. The conference was held under the economic diplomacy project where the embassy cooperated with the Czech Renewable Energy Alliance, which has long been active in the field of water, waste management and renewable technologies.

The morning session of the Water and Energy conference was launched with welcome remarks from the economic and trade counselor Benjamin Ziga, who also introduced Mr. Rowel Barba, Undersecretary for Management Services Group of the Philippine Ministry of Trade and Industry. The Undersecretary welcomed the possibility of attending the first business meeting since the signing of the Agreement on Economic Cooperation between the two countries. In addition to Rowel Barba, Ruth B. Castelo, Undersecretary, Competitiveness and Ease of Doing Business Group also delivered her speech, where she welcomed the increased activity between the Czech Republic and the Philippines.

Subsequently, Břetislav Skácel, the cluster manager delivered his opening remarks and also presented the activities of the Czech Renewable Energy Alliance as the sectoral industry leader for entering the Philippine market.

The event was attended by representatives of GEOtest, Urga. PS Profi. BAC Asia as well as  Strojírny Brno and Sigmainvest. In addition to the above-mentioned variety of private and public sectors guests participated on the afternoon B2B session, where important technical discussion took place.
