Successful Czech Language and Culture courses were organized by the Czech Embassy during the year 2012. There high interest among the Filipino students on (from their perspective) exotic language, was surprising even for us.
Therefore, we are happy that for the coming year there is a follow up presented by the Czech Language and Realia courses organized in cooperation with the Order of the Knights of Rizal in the Clark Special Economic Zone, and thanks to the active involvement of Dr. Leoš Středa. Course focused mainly on high school graduates, beginned on January 2013. Premises were borrowed by public high school in Sapang Bato. And special offer for the best learners is: they will receive tender to study free of charge in Europe. Private secondary school “Dr. Streda College” will accommodate six of them to study in the Czech Republic and obtain secondary education in health and social services.
As you can see on picture, many students are really interested on the Czech language: behind the students (from left) Ass. Prof. Dr. Leoš Středa, M.D., Dr. Jakub Černý from the Czech Embassy in Manila and Sir Paul Santos from Knights of Rizal. Dr. Leos Streda ´s lecture is on the second picture.
For the participants we also published a Czech phraseology and realia textbook (Aklat-aralin ng Tseka prasiyolohiya at realia para sa Pilipino).
