Universities in Manila – University of Santo Tomas and Ateneo de Manila University - hosted this week a Czech academic Dr. Richard Q. Turcsanyi who presented his brand-new book „China´s Assertiveness in South China Sea“ and his views on rising China´s power, particularly Chinese attempts to control and militarize the South China Sea.

This very accurate topic was vividly discussed with students of Interdisciplinary Studies at University of Santo Tomas and students of Asian Studies at Ateneo de Manila University.

Dr. Richard Q. Turcsanyi is, among others, an Assistant Professor at Mendel University in Brno and Associate Research Fellow at Institute of International Relations Prague. In his academic research, he focuses mostly on Chinese foreign policy and China's relations with Central Europe. Dr. Turcsanyi visited Manila on his 6 weeks-long Asia tour.
