New Economic Talent competition - call for papers

The Center for Economic Research and Graduate Education – Economics Institute (CERGE-EI) in Prague invites university students and recent graduates to submit papers to the New Economic Talent competition.

Have you recently written an economics paper that you would like to share with a wider audience? Perhaps you studied math, physics or engineering, but your work has implications for economics. Submit your paper to the NET competition and present your ideas! Get feedback from leading economic scholars and gain ideas and contacts for your future research. The winner will receive 1,000 USD and tickets to CERGE-EI special events.

The competition is open to Bachelor's and Master's students (full-time or part-time) in any field and recent graduates (up to one year after graduation), who are interested in contemporary economic issues and wish to understand better the forces and processes that ‘shape the world’.

The competition is international, has two rounds, and its working language is English. Applicants submit a complete paper (up to 50 pages) and an extended abstract (1 – 2 pages) to the first round. Selected finalists present their papers at CERGE-EI, Prague, in the second round. The topic of the paper can be in macroeconomics, microeconomics, applied economics, or finance. Papers will be judged based on originality, substance, analytical nature, and clarity of writing.

Prize for the winner consists of 1,000 USD and access to an international network of top economists (through attendance at events such as the Distinguished Speaker Series).

Deadline for submissions is 28 February, 2018.

How to Submit Your Paper:
