Apostille

Effective May 14, 2019, the Republic of the Philippines joined the Convention Abolishing the Requirement of Legalization for Foreign Public Documents (1961 Hague Convention).

Philippine documents certified with an apostille are entitled to recognition in the Czech Republic and no further authentication by Czech Embassy is required.

The Czech Embassy Manila also authenticates / superlegalizes public documents coming from the Republic of Palau, the Republic of Nauru, and the Federated States of Micronesia that are to be used and submitted in the Czech Republic.

Public documents coming from the Republic of Marshall Islands and Republic of Palau to be used and submitted in the Czech Republic do not require superlegalization. Public documents from RMI can be used in the Czech Republic after receiving apostille from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Republic of Marshall Islands or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Republic of Palau.

Similar steps will be taken for Czech public documents to be used and submitted in the Philippines. After receiving Apostille from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, no further authentication by the Philippine Embassy in Prague is required.

Note:

The information described herein is specific to the authentication process for Philippine and Czech public documents to be submitted in the Czech Republic and the Philippines, respectively.
