The main aim of the policy of the targeted economic migration is to strengthen inflow of the qualified employees from the selected countries into the Czech Republic.

For the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Manila a new annual quota for the applications in the framework of the Governmental Programme on Economic Migration called Qualified Worker Programme was set. The quota is  2000 applications for Employment Cards in the framework of above mentioned programme. The Czech Government decided to increase this quota for Philippines on its meeting on December 14, 2020 when an amended Decree No. 220/2019 Coll. was approved. This decision comes into effect on January 1, 2021. Nevertheless, the Embassy will start to implement new quota only since March 1, 2021. Currently the Czech Authorities and the Embassy are working on arrangements for increasing the neccessary technical and personal capacity of the Embassy in order to implement above mentioned decision of the Czech Government.

Other quotas, namely 100 applications for the other Employment Cards per year and 100 applications per year in the framework of the Highly Qualified Worker Programme and the Key and Research Staff Programme were not changed. The Highly Qualified Workers apply for Blue Cards, the Key and Research Staff apply for Blue Cards or Intra-Company Employee Transfer Cards or Long-term Visas for the Purpose of Business.

The above mentioned quotas are not to be exceeded that means the Embassy is not allowed to accept more applications then is set in the above mentioned Decree of the Government.

Both quotas will be evenly divided into twelve months. The method of the reserving the date to apply will be announced on the web page of the Embassy.
