Rules for entering the Czech Republic

(This article expired 28.06.2023 / 14:27.)

Within the antiepidemic measures, the following conditions apply for the entry in the Czech territory for both third-country nationals as well as EU and Czech citizens.

Protective measures regulating the rules for entry into the Czech Republic in connection with the Covid-19 epidemic were repealed on April 9, 2022.

For the entry to the Czech Republic it is no longer required to fulfill any special epidemiological condition in order to prevent spread of the disease. The ban on the entry of foreigners from third countries and the need to prove virus infectivity have been lifted. This inter alia means that the visa applications, both for Schengen visas and long term visas, are processed on pre-pandemic terms. There are no restrictions on visa applications submissions to get visas for the Czech Republic.

When returning from abroad from 9 April 2022, it is not necessary to fill in the Arrival Form or submit proof of virus infectivity (negative RT-PCR test for example).

However, it is still recommended to check the current conditions of transport (including proof of virus infectivity, ie test, vaccination or recovery from the disease) directly with the agreed public transport carrier (plane, bus, train).
