The Czech Republic represents the Slovak Republic for the purpose of examining applications and issuing Schengen (short-term) visas in the Philippines

According to Regulation (EC) No 810/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council, as of 13 July 2009 establishing a Community Code on Visas (Visa Code), the Czech Republic has agreed to represent the Slovak Republic for the purpose of examining applications and issuing Schengen (short-term) visas on behalf of the Slovak Republic in the Philippines.

Beginning December 5 2011, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Manila will accept visa applications of citizens of the Philippines for short term visas on behalf of the Slovak Republic. Applications have to fulfill the requirements set by the Czech Republic, the designated party tasked to make decisions on the granting of visas. This representation arrangement enables applicants to submit their visa applications in the Philippines, instead of applying at the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Applications for long term visas are not subject to the representation arrangement and the applicants should continue to submit their visa applications at the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Jakarta.
