Unmarried long-term couples can apply for a short-term visa

Foreigners who live in a long-term relationship with Czech citizen or with EU citizen, who has a residence permit in the Czech Republic, can travel to the Czech Republic. Filipino partner can apply for a short-term visa with purpose Visiting family and friends.
 

According to the Resolution of the government of the Czech Republic dated  of 16th November 2020), Ministry of Health, foreigner who has a long-term relationship and lives in a common household with Czech citizen or with EU citizen, who has a residence permit in the Czech Republic, can apply for a short-term visa with purpose Visiting family and friends.

  1. Short-term visa application can be submit only at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Manila.
  2. Make an appointment via email manila@embassy.mzv.cz
  3. Visa applicant has to prove his/her long-term relationship with the following documents:
  • Visa application form
  • Travel document must be valid for at least 90 days after the intended departure from Schengen and will contain at least two blank pages,
  • One (1) recent photograph, photo size should be 3.5 x 4.5 cm, with a light-colored background. The photograph must be pasted/glued on the designated space on the upper right side corner of the first page of the application form.
  • Czech/EU citizen passport (photocopy), valid residence permit for EU citizens,
  • Affidavit of partnership,
  • Flight reservation,
  • Travel insurance,
  • Applicant´s bank account and 6 months bank statement,
  • Bank account (both partners are mentioned there), if applicable,
  • Lease agreement (both partners are mentioned there), if applicable,
  • Confirmation of partner´s address (both partners have the same address), if applicable,
  • Flight tickets from common holidays or visits, if applicable,
  • Accommodation/hotel confirmation from common holidays, if applicable,
  • Wedding reservation if applicable,
  • Certificate of no impediment to marriage if applicable,
  • CENOMAR with Apostille and Czech official translation if applicable,
  • Financial transfers supporting partner (bank transits/ western union slips), at least more than 1 year, if applicable,
  • Other relevant proves about the long-term relation.

The Embassy DOES NOT accept documents related to the present or the future (newly concluded lease agreements or confirmation of accommodation, documents on joint trips or visits from recent weeks, newly issued document on booking a wedding date etc.). Such documents do not prove the existence of a lasting long- term relationship.

The Embassy DOES NOT accept partner´s common photographs, printscreens of partner´s conservations neither affidavit of long-term relationship.

The target group is couples in a lasting relationships separated by a coronavirus pandemic, not couples who recently met online through dating websites or saw each other only once in the Philippines, for example.
