Visa services offered by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Manila

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Manila in accordance with relevant provisions of the Protective Measure of the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic offers a limited scope of visa services. For those fully vaccinated who posses one of the Philippine vaccination certificates - yellow card or the VaxCertPH, the Embassy offers full visa services ("on pre-pandemic terms"). For those non-vaccinated the Embassy offers full visa services from the point of view of long term visa and residence applications and limited services in the Schengen visa agenda. The Embassy is since September 30, 2021 also allowed to continue processing previously submitted application that we were not able to process due to the previous Protective Measures of the Ministry of Health (measures that are no longer valid). Inter alia, the Embassy is allowed to issue the Employee Cards outside the Qualified Employee Programme (non-programme Employee Cards).

In order to ensure safety for both applicants and the consular staff, specific measures as well application number daily limits are applied with regards to the submission of below stated visa applications. All applicants are requested to enter the embassy with a facemask. Bodily temperature may be measured. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. 

Foreigners (NOT EU citizens, family members of EU citizens and EU long-term and permanent residence permit holders - see below for more information) who are fully vaccinated with one of the EU approved vaccines in one of the countries given in one of the links below (kindly see the link "vaccination certificates CZE recognizes") can travel to Czechia with no additional requirements for any purpose

Citizens of Philippines and legally residing aliens (proof of a valid residence permit with a validity exceeding 366 days required) who have been fully vaccinated with one of the EU approved vaccines (see details below) can apply for any Schengen visa  (see article on visa services) for any purpose without needing to observe any additional quarantine measures (i.e. no need to get tested or to self-isolate). When submitting the application the applicant has to provide a DECLARATION (DOCX, 44 KB). You will be also required to present one of the Philippine vaccination certificates - so called yellow card or VaxCertPH) while submitting the Schengen visa application. Before travelling to the Czech Republic, you will also have to fill out an Czech arrival entry form before arriving (not necessary for children under the age of 12 years of age). The children under the age of 12 years do not have to have RT-PCR test before travel.

The visa itself does not quarantee entry.

A person is considered to be fully vaccinated if he/she is is vaccinated with one of the vaccines listed below:

● AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria)
● Moderna (Spikevax)
● Pfizer BioNTech (Comirnaty)
● Johnson & Johnson (Janssen)
● Covishield

in one of the countries whose vaccination certificates CZE recognizes (Philippines are on that list).

In case an applicant had a booster shot that is one of the above mentioned vaccines recognized in the Czech Republic, this applicant is eligible to submit an application even if he/she is fully vaccinated with a vaccine not recognized in the Czech Republic (for example Sinovac, Sinopharm or Sputnik).

From September 30, 2021 the applications for long term visas and residence are submitted on pre-pandemic terms (see also below; no matter the status of applicant vaccination).

Scope of operations for non-vaccinated:

Acceptance of Schengen visa applications for not vaccinated is suspended with these exceptions:

  • receipt of visa applications from family members of Czech citizens and EU citizens living on the territory of the Czech Republic and so called unmarried couples
  • receipt of visa applications from individuals whose entry is in the interest of the Czech Republic,
  • receipt of visa applications from diplomats and officials working for international organizations accredited by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic,
  • receipt of visa applications from a few other applicants as per the Protective Measure of the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic.

Long-term visa and residence permits - from September 30, 2021 NOT LIMITED (legally residing aliens  required to present a proof of a valid Philippine residence permit with a validity exceeding 366 days).

In order to be allowed entry as a fully vaccinated person, you will be required to present your VACCINATION CERTIFICATE. The date of the last vaccine dose must not be older than 270 days. In case you have already received a booster shot, this condition (270 days limit) does not apply.

Not vaccinated foreign minors, if accompanied by vaccinated adult(s),  are allowed to travel to the Czech Republic under same conditions as fully vaccinated persons (see above).

EU citizens, family members of EU citizens and long-term and EU permanent residence permit holders (12 years and older) travelling from Philippines using a commercial mean of transport need to submit upon arrival to Czechia following documentation:

  • filled Passenger Locator Form
  • RT-PCR test certificate or vaccination certificate or certificate of covid recovery
  • if no vaccination certificate (EU family member or long term visa holder), then it is necessary to take a RT-PCR test between 5th and 7th day after arrival to Czechia

When travelling from an EU Member State to the Czech Republic, no epidemiological requirements apply.

IN CASE OF LONG TERM VISA AND RESIDENCE APPLICATIONS THE RULES FOR FULLY VACCINATED AND NON-VACCINATED PERSONS ARE THE SAME.

The Embassy is also allowed to continue processing long term visas and residence applications that were submitted before pandemic and could not be finished due to previous Protective Measures of the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic. Inter alia, the Embassy is allowed to issue approved Employee Cards regarding applicatios submitted before pandemic outside the Qualified Employee Programme.

Un-vaccinated foreigners

For un-vaccinated foreigners, who meet general entry rules to the Czech Republic (only essential travel is allowed) a negative PCR test is required (before flight) followed by a second PCR test after the arrival to the Czech Republic. This second test must be conducted between the 5th and 7th day after the arrival. Detailed measures are available in Czech language on the website of the Czech Ministry of Health.
