30 years since the Velvet revolution and other events in Geneva

This year, we commemorate a number of important events connected with the history of Czechoslovakia and the Czech Republic. 30 years ago, on 17 November 1989, we have commenced our march towards freedom and democracy. This was so called "Velvet Revolution" when people took their courage to stand up peacefully against the regime and to claim the promise of fundamental human rights.

The Permanent Mission of the Czech Republic, in the cooperation with the Permanent Mission of Slovakia, with fellow countrymen and other partners is planning to organize several public events to commemorate the 30th anniversary of democratic transition in Czechoslovakia.

Please note that this overview is indicative. Follow our web page and twitter (www.twitter.com/CZmissionGeneva) for regular updates. A detailed invitation to each event will be distributed. Please follow the links provided for RSVP and registration.
