Czech Republic at the 42nd Session of the UN Human Rights Council

The 42nd Session of the UN Human Rights Council was held from 9 to 27 September with the Czech Republic actively participating. As one of the 47 Member States of the Council, Czechia took part in numerous meetings and in adoptions of resolutions on human rights situations in  concrete countries as well as on traditional human rights issues.

During the Session the Czech Republic took part in the following debates and dialogues:

Throughout the 42nd Session, the Czech Republic was engaging in negotiations of resolutions. As a Member State it jointly presented EU resolutions on the human rights situations in Myanmar and Burundi.

Bulding upon the resolution on equal political and public participation adopted in September 2018, presented by Czechia in cooperation with a group of countries, a joint statment on the implemenation of the resolution was presented on 13 September.

The Czech Republic is currently a member of the UN HRC for the term 2019 to 2021. Previously, it served as a Member during the first year of the Council's existence (2006-2007) and from 2011 to 2014.
