HRC41: Resolution on freedom of peaceful assembly and association submitted by the Czech Republic was adopted by consensus

The resolution on the rights to freedom of peaceful assembly and association presented by the Czech Republic together with Indonesia, Lithuania, Maldives and Mexico was adopted by consensus on 11 July 2019 at the end of the 41. session of the Human Rights Council.
The principle objective of this initiative is to renew the mandate of the special rapporteur on the rights to freedom of peaceful assembly and association. The resolution is recognizing the challenges to the enjoyment of these rights and the value of its exercise in support of the implementation of Agenda 2030 on Sustainable Development. By the time of the adoption, the initiative was supported by 71 states from all regions of the world.
