Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs pledged in Geneva to contribute the humanitarian assistance to Yemen

During the High-Level Pledging Event for the Humanitarian Crisis in Yemen organised by OCHA on 25th April 2017 in Geneva and chaired by Mr. Antonio Guterres, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, on behalf of the Czech Republic Mr. Martin Tlapa, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, announced a humanitarian assistance in the amount of 1 mil. USD for the years 2017-18.
This contribution should be mainly used to meet needs for health assistance, water, nutrition and protection. At the same time Mr. Tlapa appealed to all parts of the conflict to respect the International Humanitarian Law underlining that only a lasting political solution can end the current human suffering in the country.
