Ambassador Gajdušek met the WHO Director-General

Petr Gajdušek, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Czech Republic to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva, met Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organisation (WHO).

At the outset, Petr Gajdušek appreciated an excellent cooperation between the Czech Republic and WHO at the national, regional as well as global level. Although the Czech Republic is an advanced country with good health indicators, it can still benefit from WHO's normative work in areas such as non-communicable diseases, healthy aging or digital health.

Dr. Tedros thanked the Czech Republic for an active support to WHO, including its strategic goal to improve health of three billion people worldwide. Ambassador Gajdušek and Director-General Tedros also agreed to the benefits of diversity and balanced representation of member countries in WHO.
