The OSCE Human Dimension Implementation Meeting 2016

The 20th year of the annual Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe Human Dimension Implementation Meeting organised by the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) was held in Warsaw between 19 and 30 September 2016.

The Human Dimension Implementation Meeting as Europe's largest conference on human rights and democracy presents a platform for an assessment and an exchange of ideas on the implementation of commitments made within the OSCE’s human dimension. This year's conference was attended by a record number of 1500 participants and the meeting became a traditional opportunity for discussion and sharing of experience among representatives of the governments of the 57 OSCE participating States, international experts, civil society representatives and human rights activists. Standard topics related to democratic institutions, fundamental freedoms, humanitarian issues and tolerance and non-discrimination were complemented by specific issues like international covenants on human rights and their importance for the OSCE human dimension, freedom of assembly and association and the rights of the child.
