FSC Chairperson I. Šrámek launched another Security Dialogue on SALW/SCA in OSCE in Vienna

On 30 October 2019, another Security Dialogue was held under the Czech Chairmanship of the Security Cooperation Forum (FSC) at the OSCE in Vienna. This time it was dedicated to non-proliferation of small arms and light weapons (SALW) and to conventional ammunition stockpiles (SCA) reduction and management. The aim of the event was to increase effectiveness of projects on SALW/SCA and to promote peace and security in Europe and beyond.

At the beginning of the Security Dialogue the Chairperson of the FSC, the Permanent Representative of the Czech Republic to the OSCE, Ambassador I. Šrámek highlighted the importance of SALW/SCA projects within the OSCE's efforts to ensure stability, security and peace in the OSCE region. The topic of SALW / SCA was already tabled to FSC program under the Czech Chairmanship on Wednesday 9 October 2019. That time it was focused on donor countries contributing financially to SALW / SCA projects. The current Security Dialogue was focused on the implementation of these projects and on their benefits. The presentations of invited experts have contributed to interesting discussion and exchange of experience.
