IAEA Board of Governors under Czech chairmanship and together with Czech EU Presidency

Ambassador Ivo Šrámek chaired the first IAEA Board of Governors (16.-18.11. 2022) under Czech chairmanship at the time of the last weeks of the EU Czech Presidency of the Council of the European Union. One report and two resolutions were adopted by the Board, ten EU statements, and one Czech national statement were delivered.

November IAEA Board of Governors (16.-18.11. 2022) in Vienna adopted:

  • - report of the Technical Assistance and Cooperation Committee on Technical cooperation
  • - resolution on the NPT Safeguards Agreement with the Islamic Republic of Iran
  • - resolution on the safety, security and safeguards implications of the situation in Ukraine

The IAEA Board of Governors discussed agenda items on verification and monitoring in the Islamic Republic of Iran in the light of UNSC resolution 2231 (2015); application of safeguards in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea; implementation of the NPT safeguards agreement in the Syrian Arab Republic; NPT Safeguards Agreement with the Islamic Republic of Iran; nuclear safety, security and safeguards in Ukraine; transfer of the nuclear materials in the context of AUKUS and its safeguards in all aspects under the NPT, and other issues.
