Minister Petříček addressed the OSCE Foreign Ministers at the 26th Ministerial Council meeting in Bratislava

Minister of Foreign Affairs Tomáš Petříček represents the Czech Republic at the 26th meeting of the Ministerial Council of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) held in Bratislava on 5 - 6 December 2019.

The Czech Republic, as the presiding country of the OSCE Security Cooperation Forum, submitted to the Ministerial Council a draft declaration on the Code of Conduct on Politico-Military Security Aspects and a declaration on non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. On behalf of the 32 OSCE participating states, the Czech delegation also strives to modernize the Vienna document, which is an essential tool for OSCE political-military measures to strengthen confidence and security.

This year, the Czech Republic also chairs the OSCE Human Dimension Committee. Our ambition is to contribute to the approval of three human rights decisions in the OSCE 3rd Dimension concerning the prevention of torture, freedom of peaceful assembly and religious tolerance and non-discrimination.

Minister Petříček supported the Bratislava call of the acting Chairman of the OSCE, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs of Slovakia Miroslav Lajčák. The Call seeks to ensure that the OSCE participating States reaffirm their commitment to the OSCE's core principles.

Minister Petříček met briefly with the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Andorra and Norway, and with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine on the margins of the OSCE Ministerial Council.
