OSCE Security Days in Prague

The OSCE Security Days conference, organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic and the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Foundation, took place at the Czernin Palace from 18 to 19 May 2017. The main topic of the discussions was the current global unpredictability and uncertainty that is reflected also by  the title of the conference "Countering fragmentation and polarization: Re-creating a climate for stability in Europe."

The conference was opened by OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier and was attended by representatives of governments, governmental and non-governmental international organizations, the media as well as the academic sphere.  During discussions the main focus was put on following five thematic panels: security implications of the phenomenon of "post-truth politics", the state of European security today and the prospects for the future, overcoming divergent threat perceptions, countering fragmentation within and between societies and the future of European security with an emphasis on how to create a climate for stability.
