Visa Information System (Biometrics)

Since November 2015, the Visa Information System (VIS) has been used by all consulates of the Schengen Area member states. The VIS allows an exchange of data, including the biometric data of applicants, such as fingerprints. Fingerprints are submitted when filing a visa application.
