Ukraine granted status of Enhanced Opportunity Partner

The Czech Republic welcomes that Ukraine has been granted the status of Enhanced Opportunities Partner. This status is part of NATO's Partnership Interoperability Initiative, which aims to maintain and deepen cooperation between Allies and partners that have made significant contributions to NATO-led operations and missions.

Ukraine supports our Resolute Support Mission in Afghanistan and helps counter improvised explosive devices with a heavy engineering unit in Kosovo. Ukraine is also part of the NATO Response Force. This shows Ukraine’s strong and continuing commitment to international security. Ukraine will benefit from access to interoperability programmes and exercises, and more sharing of information, including lessons learned. We highly value Ukraine's strong contributions to Euro-Atlantic security. An independent, sovereign and stable Ukraine is key to Euro-Atlantic security.
