Since the second earthquake that hit Nepal on May 12, 2015 (the epicenter of Namche Bazaar), in the Nepalese public have been continuously rising concerns about possible arrival of another much stronger and devastating earthquake. The second wave of powerful aftershocks came at a time when the situation began to stabilize and the daily rhythm of life began to return to normal. Kathmandu has been turned into a tent city. People still refuse to stay in buildings higher than 3 floors, and each day there are "minor" shakes between 5 and 6 degrees on the Richter scale.

Affected areas especially lack of tents and tarpaulins for building temporary shelters. Foreign tourists have disappeared from the major tourists centers, shops are closed and many Nepalis left Katmandu. The government has promised to provide each family financial assistance in the amount of approximately US $ 200 to build transitional shelters, so people could survive the coming monsoon season.

On 16 May, 2015, was carried out a personnel rotation of the Czech trauma team. Ambassador M. Stašek thanked the leaving part of the team for the excellent work they had done for Nepal and also for the reputation of the Czech Republic. In only 14 days the team managed to build a very good reputation with the Nepalese side and amongst other rescue and medical teams. Their engagement significantly contributed to the visibility of the Czech Republic in Nepal and in the future will undoubtedly have a positive impact on bilateral relation.

14 new team members were  transported to Melamchi at the same day where the team will stay till the end of their mission at the request of the Nepalese Government. From the area are already pulling out smaller teams that often hand over their patients to the Czech trauma team. Furthermore, in Melamchi operate the Polish and Japanese medical teams. The number of treated patients is between 25-40 day. On  May 17, 2015, Nepalese Deputy Minister of Health visited the Czech trauma team Melamchi and later on visit this week the Honorary Consul of the Republic accompanied by Nepalese media and representatives of local authorities dealing with disaster management are also visiting the Czech team in order to extend greater awareness about Czech aid and trauma team´s engagement in Nepal.
