"Parliamentary Cooperation between Czechia and Nepal"

Mr. Chairperson of the National Assembly of the Federal Parliament of Nepal Ganesh Prasad Timilsina sent a congratulatory letter to his Czech counterpart Mr.Milos Vystrcil on assuming the position of the President of the Senate of the Czech Parliament. He underscored that the relations between Nepal and the Czech Republic have always remained cordial and friendly. He recalled that both countries celebrated the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties last year and expressed hope that the relations will continue to deepen and widen in the days to come.

The President of the Senate of the Czech Parliament Mr. Miloš Vystrčil  replied to him that he deeply appreciates the friendship that binds both countries. The Czech Republic has been present in Nepal for a long time through a number of development assistance programs, funded both publicly and privately, focusing on promoting education, improving access to healthcare, or agriculture, withing the framework of the official development assistance of the Czech Republic as well as of the assistance provided through the European Union. President Vystrcil assured his Nepalese counterpart Mr. Timilsina that he will follow up traditionally excellent relations and actively pursue the further enhancement of the cooperation between legislative bodies of the Czech Republic and Nepal.

In the wake of unprecedented crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, President Timilsina expressed Nepalese solidarity in the fight against coronavirus. "My thoughts and prayers are with the friendly Czech nationals who have suffered the pain", he added.

Czech Parliament assisted to Nepal already in 2016, a few months after the new Constitution came into effect. That time Czech and Nepalese Parliamentarians from the Constitutional Law and Legislative Committees discussed different practicalities over the Czech and Nepalese Constitutions.
