Ambassador Visited Sri Lanka to Enhance Futher Cooperation

Date: 20 July 2018, Venue: Colombo

Non-resident Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Sri Lanka based in New Delhi, Milan Hovorka, visited on July 20 2018, the capital of Sri Lanka, Colombo, in order to discuss the current state of mutual relations and discuss further possibilities of cooperation. In Colombo, Ambassador called on Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka Hon. Tilak Marapana, with whom, following the recent official visit to the Czech Republic, discussed current bilateral issues between the two countries and prospects for further development of Czech-Sri Lankan economic relations.

In addition to several other meetings at the highest government level, Ambassador Milan Hovorka also undertook a working visit to one of the oldest chambers of commerce in the world, where he discussed with the chairman further building of closer ties with the Czech business environment and the possibilities of mutual cooperation between Czech and Sri Lanka companies. Sri Lanka is a promising market, especially in tourism, but also in the mining, plastics and rubber industry. The fact that Czech companies are increasingly searching Sri Lanka to buy and sell their products and find their partners is also positive. Hopefully, the business delegation set to visit Sri Lanka in September, will also contribute to this.
