The Bengal Global Business Summit confirmed an interest in bilateral co-operation

Ambassador of the Czech Republic to India, Milan Hovorka, had a privilige to launch on 16thof January 2018 alongside Hon´ble Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banarjee the Bengal Global Business Summit. At the same time, the Czech Republic's pavilion was ceremonially opened at the Ambassador's presence. Together with the Embassy of the Czech Republic in India, many Czech companies took part in this important event as a Czech Republic performed as a partner country to present the best of Czech business in India.  

The 4th Bengal Global Business Summit 2018, designed to develop the business relationship of this 80 million-strong state, was conceived as the largest event in 2018. West Bengal is the India's 4th largest economy, with an impressive 15% growth in economic value added.
The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Delhi came up with a presentation of Czech exporters and investors in the form of an exhibition pavilion, in which presented their products and services renowned companies such as HomeCredit, Škoda Doosan Power, ZKL Bearings, Preciosa, M & Bc Fiamoli, CINK Hydro-Energy or ALINZ, representing Ostrava-based PETROCard Czech s.r.o. The Embassy thus joined a group of six countries, such as Japan, Germany, France, and Italy, which participated in the summit as a partner country. This has also increased the visibility of the Czech Republic and the attention of local media.
Ambassador Milan Hovorka also delivered a speech at the beginning of the parallel conference and adressed the delegates with comprehensive information about industrial and trade potential of Czechia.

The second day of the summit was marked by B2B meetings and networking sessions between representatives of Czech companies and their Bengali counterparts. Participants also appreciated the opportunity to meet the most prominent Indian businessmen like Lakshmi Mittal (ArcelorMittal), Mukesh Ambani (Reliance) or Naveen Jindal (Jindal Steel).
