Czech companies at DEFEXPO India

Companies representing the Czech defense and security industry took part in business mission to India organized in connection with the international defence trade fair DEFEXPO India 2018 in Chennai on 11-13 April. The Embassy prepared a programme of meetings for the Delegation of Czech companies led by Ambassador of the Czech Republic to India H. E. Milan Hovorka on the margins of the trade fair.
 

At DEFEXPO India trade fair, the Czech companies Czechoslovak Group, Meopta Systems, PBS Velká Bíteš, Ray Service, Tatra Trucks and THT Ostrava CZ showcased their production and capabilities. With the help of EL Ray company the Czech companies could present themselves using a common exhibition area. The largest Czech supplier for Indian Armed Forces, Tatra Trucks, was presented at the outdoor exhibition area where six Tatra vehicles were placed. On various opportunities production of two other Czech companies: Omnipol and VOP CZ was presented.

The Czech delegation had the opportunity to meet a number of Indian dignitaries and high officials, such as Hon'ble Minister of State for Defence Subhash Ramrao Bhamre, Defence Secretary Sanjay Mitra and high ranking officers of Indian Armed Forces. A wide range of possibilities of co-operation in the area of defence supplies of trucks, aviation engines, cable harnesses, optical systems, helicopter spare parts and passive radar system was discussed.

Ambassador H. E. Milan Hovorka expressed his satisfaction with the way the Czech companies presented themselves in DEFEXPO India: "I am convinced that Czech companies have done very well and their presence in the Trade Fair was visible. Our meetings with the Indian partners provided ground for fruitful discussion and I was glad to see that there is still solid base for further co-operation in the defence area."
