Czech Radars ELDIS will Cover 90% of Indian Airspace

A new service center for radars made by ELDIS Pardubice was opened in presence of Chairman of AAI (Airport Authority of India) Mr. Guruprasad Mohapatra, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to India H. E. Milan Hovorka and Commercial Director of ELDIS Pardubice Petr Krejcar. This event closed one chapter of history of successful operations conducted by ELDIS Pardubice in India. Almost 90% of Indian airspace will be covered, once the number of Czech radars installed for civil aviation reach 17 in the near future.

In 2012 the very first contract on supply of 8 surveillance radar systems was concluded between Czech producer and AAI. By that time no one knew that foundation of new partnership is being laid. Next 6 radar systems were delivered on the basis of another contract concluded in 2014.

In India there are 14 radar systems made by ELDIS today. Radars are placed at airports in Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Cochin, Delhi, Guwahati Chennai, Imphal, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mangalore, Mumbai and Trivandrum. ELDIS radars monitor almost 2 million flights, thereby make traveling safe for more than 220 million passengers every year.

Three new ELDIS radar systems will be added in Aurangabad, Berhampur and Bikaner on the basis of contract concluded in 2017. Opening of service center in Delhi demonstrated trust of AAI in high-quality and reliability of products developed and manufactured in Czechia as well as the willingness of AAI to continue in cooperation with ELDIS in future. The center will take care of needs of the entire region of South and South East Asia and it will support business activities of the Czech company in the region.

Contract on supply of another 4 radars will be concluded soon. After completing of the contract almost whole Indian airspace will be covered by Czech radar systems for civil aviation transport.
