Czech Republic presented in Kolkata at BGBS 2019

The Embassy of the Czech Republic participated from 6th to 8th of February 2019 in Kolkata for the third time in the last four years at the Bengal Global Business Summit 2019 (BGBS) and for the second time in a row presented the Czech Republic as a partner country in this prestigious business and political event organized in West Bengal. The delegation was led by Ambassador Milan Hovorka, accompanied by 14 representatives from 7 companies that presented at the summit.
 

The Czech Republic followed the success of last year's event, where we participated as the Partner Country, and this year joined another 11 foreign countries (Australia, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Poland, the Republic of Korea, United Kingdom, and United Arab Emirates). At the summit and parallel Expo, Czech Republic was represented by 7 companies that contributed to the quality of the event and belonged to the unforgettable moments.

The Czech Republic was represented by companies such as HomeCredit, Škoda Doosan Power, ComAp, Papcel, CINK Hydro-Energy, ZKL Bearings or representatives of the Ostrava-city based Petrocard. They took advantage of the opportunity to present themselves at a country pavilion which was secured by the embassy, as well as to undertake the B2B meetings that they held with the Indian partners during the summit.

Czech Republic again proved the excellency and strengths in sectors like automotive, petrochemical, engineering, power and energy producing sectors. At the same time, however, Czech services were presented too.

West Bengal, on the other hand, is the center of the mining industry, with strong demand for engineering products and heavy industry. Last but not least, it is also the center of services and science and research, one of the most important ones on an all-India scale.

In addition to arranging the Expo pavilion, Ambassador Milan Hovorka also attended the summit and by having a speech on Plenary supported the present and other companies that have their production or business presence in India or which trade with India.
