Czechs in Uttar Pradesh

The high powered business delegation headed by Ambassador of the Czech Republic to India Milan Hovorka participated as one of Partner Countries at the first ever Uttar Pradesh Investment Summit 2018 held in Lucknow on February 21-22, 2018.

The business mission to the Summit was initiated by the Czech Embassy in New Delhi, which is continuously explores trade and investment potential in various States and connects local stakeholders with the talent, competence and knowledge of the Czech companies.

In Lucknow, a dozen of the Czech companies and their Indian partners, such as HomeCredit, Stros Esquire, ElRay, PARS Komponenty, ALINZ, Bohemia Beer, Papcel a.s., CINK HYDRO-ENERGY or MIKROELEKTRONIKA interacted with their partners from Uttar Pradesh.

Uttar Pradesh is one of the Indian States with the greatest potential for Czech companies. Its development objectives and the ambition to build new manufacturing capacities and infrastructure perfectly match the interest of Czech industrialists and businesses in a number of areas, including  manufacturing, electronics, renewable energy, smart cities, paper industry or civil aviation.

Ambassador Milan Hovorka was honored to meet with several ministers, both from the Union and Uttar Pradesh Governments. He was grateful to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for giving him and his delegation an opportunity to present their visions regarding the increased visibility of the Czech Republic in Uttar Pradesh.

During the Summit, which was attended by India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a diverse program was set up, in which the Czech Republic presented itself as one of the seven partner countries. "We took a very good decision to come to Lucknow. With its large talent pool, high innovation potential and pro-business environment, Uttar Pradesh represents one of the most promising partners for the Czech Republic. The Summit has concluded but our efforts to promote mutually beneficial cooperation will continue," commented the Ambassador his attendance at the Summit.
