Approved Small Local Projects for 2022

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic approved one small local development project in Nepal and one project for Sri Lanka in 2022. The total amount of the support of the Czech Government will be 834,000.00 CZK.

 

Nepal

Establishing handicraft workshop and equipping computer lab in Sinamangal,  Kathmandu Valle

The project will be realized by Milijuli Foundation. The project is supported by 390,000.00 CZK.

The organization plans to retrofit the handicraft production unit. Priority will be given to single mothers and will be set up as part of the Milijuli educational program complex, which serves as a safe space for slum children and provides them free education and lunch. Part of the project is the establishment of a computer lab for children's needs and the improvement of women's computer literacy.

Sri Lanka

Providing Safe Drinking Water For 1,176 Marginalised-Underserved Tribal Minor Ethnic Families in Eastern Province in Sri Lanka

The project will be realized by Child Rehabilitation Centre. The project is supported by 444,000.00 CZK.

The region concerned is often affected by drought and inhabited by a special indigenous tribal group. The main direct beneficiaries of the secure drinking water supply project are almost 5,000 people. A common covered safe drinking water supply unit is to be set up. This unit will consist of a built water well, water purification unit, upper water tank, high-capacity water pump, supply system, piping system + water supply units (taps).
