Czech companies at Aero India

Embassy of the Czech Republic in New Delhi organized the participation of Czech companies on one of the largest exhibitions of military and civil aviation technology in the world, which was held from 14 to 18 February 2017 in Bengaluru. The delegation was led by Ambassador H. E. Milan Hovorka and Hon. State Secretary of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic Robert Szurman.

 

On the preparation of the business mission, which was financially supported by the program of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic participated also ALV - the Association of Aerospace Manufacturers of the Czech Republic. The Czech delegation was represented major Czech companies such as: CATC, ERA, Flying Academy, GE Aviation (Czech Republic), PBS Velka Bites, Ray Service and Tatra Trucks participated as members of the Czech delegation, while Ray Service, PBS Velka Bites and Flying Academy were among exhibitors of the Trade Fair.

The Czech delegation met with the Secretaries of Ministry of Defence, Deputy Chief of Air Force, Minister of large and medium industries of the state of Karnataka, Chairman HAL, CMD of state transportation company Pawan Hans, Director for defense programs at BEML, top managers of Indian Ordnance Factories, military research institute DRDO, representatives of major private Indian companies such as Reliance and Mahindra, but also international companies BAE Systems, Leonardo, Textron, Rolls Royce (aero-engines).

At a press conference organized on the occasion of setting a Czech-Indian joint venture El Rey created by Czech company Ray Service, which manufactures wiring harnesses, and Indian company Elcomponics, the Hon. Secretary of State R. Szurman expressed in his speech "the full support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade for such joint projects of Czech and Indian companies." Ambassador M. Hovorka said: "I am very glad to be present at such a significant moment of beginning of cooperation between Czech and Indian companies based on the transfer of Czech technologies and experience of supplies for the aerospace and defense industry in India, which is one of the world’s biggest buyers of military and aviation technology. "
