Czechia Presented at the SATTE 2020 Tourism Expo

Embassy of the Czech Republic and Czech Tourist Authority - CzechTourism in cooperation with its office in Mumbai presented the Czech Republic at one of the largest tourism fairs in Asia - SATTE 2020, when they prepared on January 8 – 10, 2020 with the help of project supporting economic diplomacy a successful exhibition pavilion where they promoted tourism together with the prominent travel agency Europea Travel. The program was attended by the Managing Director of CzechTourism Jan Herget, who, together with Ambassador of the Czech Republic to India, M. Hovorka, innaugurated SATTE 2020 and also held a number of bilateral meetings. The icing on the three-day program was a networking cocktail at the embassy.
 

The project was supported by the Ministry of Regional Development of the Czech Republic using the financial instrument to support economic diplomacy PROPED “Presentation at the SATTE Tourism Fair” and reflects India's potential in incoming tourism and the experience that the Embassy of Delhi and CzechTourism have from previous years , where the Czech Republic presented itself several times in a row.

Tourism from India to the Czech Republic has been growing for several consecutive years and the presentation activities of the Embassy of the Czech Republic also contribute to this success. The number of tourists increased by 1.5% between January and September 2019 and there is a presumption that the year-round magical limit will reach 100,000 tourists a year. Indian clients are among the most creditworthy and longest-standing group of tourists to the Czech Republic.

The program was attended by CzechTourism CEO Jan Herget, Director of the Foreign Representation Department Klára Vysloužilová and Marek Kroutil, Manager for International Marketing. There were also representatives of the CzechTourism office in Mumbai, director Arzan Khambatta, head John Wilson and project manager Shivani Tripathi. Daniel Nedvěd, Managing Director and Daniel Soukup from Europea Travel (Asiana) also arrived from the Czech Republic.

 

Meeting with Ministry of Tourism

 

In addition to the fair presentation through its own booth, the Czech Republic attended the opening ceremony at the exhibition center on the outskirts of Delhi in Greater Noida, where Ambassador of the Czech Republic to India, Milan Hovorka and CzechTourism CEO Jan Herget were present and  had the honour to meet and interact with India´s Minister of Tourism Prahlad Singh Patel and Minister of Shipping Mansukh L. Mandaviya or Subhash Goyal, President of the Federation of Associations in Indian Tourism & Hospitality.

Ambassador M. Hovorka then personally attended the opening ceremony of the Czech stand. Equally important items on the agenda were bilateral meetings with the ministries concerned and business meetings with selected tourism partners. Supporting the re-establishment of direct flight is one of the constant priorities for the further development of tourism in both countries.

 

Networking Evening

 

In the evening, a social event for tourism partners was organized at the Embassy. The visitors had the opportunity to hear a welcome speech from Ambassador Milan Hovorka as well as Managing Director of CzechTourism Jan Herget and during the following networking evening also to discuss visa questions with Head of the Consular and Visa Department Gabriela Baharvand Benetková.
