Czech Science at European Research Day

European Research Day is a traditional event held in India every year to raise awareness of national and European mobility programs for students and researchers from India to European Union member countries. It is organized by the Delegation of European Union to India, together with the EURAXESS network and the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Delhi was present as every year. In the morning, Milan Dostál, a Commercial and Trade Counsellor dealing with science diplomacy gave a presentation. In the afternoon, roundtables were organized in order to introduce study and research opportunities for Indian students and researchers and answered specific questions.
 

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Delhi has participated in this event several times in a row, following up on previous years in Ahmedabad, Chandigarh and Kolkata. Participation at this event is one of the regular activities in support of science diplomacy and serves for the purpose of presentation of the Czech Republic as a technological and innovative country with a wide range of opportunities for science and research.

Charge D´Affairs of the Delegation of the European Union in Delhi Mr. Raimund Magis presented the current state of the European Union-India Partnership as well as some upcoming events. EURAXESS - the European portal for the support of the mobility of scientific research capacities through its representative for India has subsequently presented the possibilities offered by the European Commission to Indian applicants for scientific projects in European countries.

Together with nine other EU Member States, Commercial Counsellor of the Embassy responsible for science diplomacy, Milan Dostal, subsequently presented opportunities for students, doctoral students and researchers, scientific research infrastructure as well as living conditions in the Czech Republic.

 

Interaction with visitors

 

An interesting contribution was also the appearance of Dr. Kumar, who completed his stay in Europe with the financial support of the Marie Curie-Sklodowska Action, and shared his experience with those present.

In the afternoon round tables were organized, where the Embassy representatives addressed the guests individually and answered their specific questions.
