Support of Cooperation in Climate Change Research

Date: 27 November 2018

One-Day Visit of Director of the Global Change Research Institute, Prof. RNDr. Ing. Michal V. Marek, DrSc., dr. h. c. in New Delhi on November 27, 2018 demonstrated that representatives of the Czech science and technology infrastructure perceive the research potential of the world's fastest growing economy with interest. During a working trip to the north Indian city of Dehradun, prof. Marek conducted two meetings - with the National Physical Laboratory, which focuses on methods and ways of measurement that can be used in environmental studies or in global change research. Another meeting was held by CzechGlobe at the renowned non-governmental agency The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI).

The Global Change Research Institute (CzechGlobe) is part of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic and is a public research institution dealing with global change with an impact on the atmosphere, biosphere and human society. The Brno-based Institute has already been in contact with the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing, and now CzechGlobe has taken another trip to India in order to establish contacts with Indian counterparts and to highlight the activities of this prestigious Czech organization.
With support from the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Delhi, valuable meetings were held with the National Physical Laboratory and TERI - The Energy and Resources Institute, one of India's most dynamic and progressive organizations. CzechGlobe flew for another program with the finding that Indian research infrastructure has much to offer and at the same time India is looking for cooperation with the Czech counterparts.
