The Czech Republic as the partner country in the investors summit in Ranchi

The Czech Republic participated as the Partner Country at the first ever „Momentum Jharkhand: Global Investors Summit 2017“ held on 16 and 17 Februaey in Ranchi,  the capital city of Jharkhand. The Czech Republic was representated by Ambassador Milan Hovorka and State Secretary of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Mr. Robert Szurman, as well as by  representatives of several Czech companies.

Ambassador Milan Hovorka was also privileged to have the opportunity to address the inaugural session of the Summit, along with so many dignitaries representing both the Union and State governments.

In his speech, the Ambassador recognised all the efforts the governmenrt and people of Jharkhand have made to put the country on the path of robust economic growth and ease of doing business. He alluded to historical ties and long-lasting partnership between the Czech Republic and Jharkhand thanks to the HEC  (Heavy Engineering  Corporation) and recalled that it was in Ranchi, where the Czech and Indian designers, engineers and manufacturers joined their efforts to lay down foundations to strong heavy engineering industry in India. Before concluding, the Ambassado underlined the readiness of the Czech Republic to tie up once again with Jharkhand on its way to build the prosperous State.

The Czech delegation also called on Chief Minister of Jharkhand Raghubar Das. The meeting saw converging views on sectors in which both parties could  and should work together and which include manufacturing, automotive industry, energy (renewable energy, hydropower), infrastructure and minig industry.

The Czechia participated also at the Country Seminar focussing on perspectivities of cooperation in various areas, including trade, investment and people-to-people contacts.

Czech companies present in Ranchi by the time of the Summit (ŠKODA Auto India, Home Credit India, STROS-ESQUIRE, TOS Kuřim and Bonatrans India) had the opportunity to meet their potential partners at the national pavillon prepared by the Embassy. The stand provided equally good opportunity for the interaction with visitors of the Summit.
