Indian Engineering Industry at MSV Brno Fair

India has become one of the most important participants of the 61st International Engineering Fair in Brno. Delegation of 80 Indian companies organized by EEPC India and CII and supported by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Delhi, participated at the most important industrial fair in Central and Eastern Europe. The Indian delegation was led by the Secretary of Department of Heavy Industry Asha Ram Sihag. The Secretary was received by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic Karel Havlíček in the presence of State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Miloslav Stašek and the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Eduard Muřický. The Czech-Indian Joint Working Group on co-operation in the area of Heavy Engineering was held during the MSV Brno Fair. The Indian delegation also paid a visit to Czech companies: Škoda Auto, Škoda Transportation, Vítkovice Heavy Machinery, ZKL Bearings, TS Plzeň and to technical universities ČVUT and VUT.
 

The main topics of the exhibition pavilion of the Ministry of Heavy Industry and Public Enterprises was the government's initiative “Make in India” as well as the development of industrial production in India in the prospective fields. The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in cooperation with the Engineering Export Promotion Council of India (EEPC India) have ensured the participation of around 80 representatives of Indian companies at this year's MSV Brno Fair, with the vast majority of them being exhibitors, and a smaller part of them being visitors.

The 6th meeting of the Czech-Indian Joint Working Group on co-operation in the area of Heavy Engineering was an important item on the agenda of the Indian delegation. The Working Group was established by the decision of the Czech-Indian Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation, and meets almost every year in India and in the Czech Republic alternately. The meeting of the Working Group in Brno took place with the participation of the representatives of companies from both sides and was an opportunity to exchange proposals for joint projects in engineering area.

In cooperation with the Czech Chamber of Commerce and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic, the EEPC India organized an investment seminar for Czech entrepreneurs during the second day of the MSV Brno Fair. The seminar presented India as an attractive investment destination. CzechInvest informed about their support to Czech investors preparing to run projects abroad. A representative of the Association of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises and Crafts of the Czech Republic (AMSP ČR) than presented Czech Industrial Cluster project in south India, which aims to facilitate the entry of the Czech investors to this wide market.

The AMSP ČR arranged a business seminar in the Czech national pavilion in support of the Czech Industrial Cluster project in India on the third day of the MSV Brno Fair. Karel Havlíček, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic, was a guest of honour at the seminar and personally supported the project.

Business seminar in the form of a territorial round-table for Czech companies focusing on India was organized by the Brno Regional Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with the Department of Economic Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic as a part of the MSV Brno Fair.
