Czech business mission to southern India

The delegation of Czech companies and institutions, organized in cooperation with the Association of Small and Medium Sized Enterprises and Crafts of the Czech Republic (ASMSP ČR), the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic and the Czech Trade office in Bengaluru, visited the Indian Union State of Karnataka from 26 to 30 November 2018. A series of meetings were held with professional associations, local entrepreneurs, representatives of government and government institutions, as well as Indian consultancy and development companies in Bengaluru and Mysuru.

The program included three networking seminars organized in cooperation with the Karnataka Small Scale Industries Association (KASSIA), Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI) and the Mysuru Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The program linked included also the promotion of the Czech Industrial Cluster, which is being prepared in Bengaluru. Details of possible state support for this project were discussed with Hon’ble Minister of Large and Medium Industries, Government of Karnataka K. J. George, representatives of Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board and Invest India.

The Delegation of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic also participated in conference and exhibition Bengaluru Tech Summit, during which they called on Hon’ble Chief Minister of Karnataka H. D. Kumaraswamy. On the occasion of the mission, the Honorary Consulate of the Czech Republic in Bengaluru, led by Honorary Consul C. S. Prakash, was officially launched.

Ambassador Milan Hovorka, who was leading the business mission, said: "The mission has been an opportunity to discuss further details of the Czech Industrial Cluster project. The Czech companies could understand that economic cooperation between Czechia and India today is not only the exclusive domain of large companies, but that even smaller firms have a chance to succeed. This is evidenced by the fact that two new business contracts have been signed during the program. "

 

The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic, which supported the business mission, was represented by the Director of the Department of Foreign Economic Policies II Mr. Richard Hlavatý and the Adviser to the Director Mr. Miroslav Okrouhlý. AMSP ČR was represented by the member of the Board of Directors Mr. Libor Musil and Director General Ms. Eva Svobodová. Representatives of CzechTrade, CzechInvest, CEB and EGAP were actively involved in the program too. SME representatives were recruited from companies: S.V.I.S. Trade, Czech Brewmaster, UNICUT, LIKO-S, ADAMEK CONSULTANT CZECH REPUBLIC, BEZNOSKA, EKOPOD Business ecology, EBAS, Retailys.com, SC & C, STROS ESQUIRE ELEVATORS & HOISTS, IPSOS, SULKO and TECO. Academic sector seeking scientific and technical cooperation was represented by representatives of the Technical University of Liberec.
